Description of the one of a kind chest protector
Front Rigid leather protector with 26 air-breathing holes along the front with two copper rods stitched inside down the middle for protection. The neck protector is sewn on with five air holes. On the protector, there are three and two tooth buckle rivets riveted onto the leather at four spaces.
Backside There is green oxidized powder showing that the catcher sweated from the protector. The shoulder straps are rounded in soft leather for comfort around the shoulders. The neck part and backside are much darker from the catcher sweating. The dents in the middle part show where the ball landed near the ribs, which is why this protector was created. There is heavy-duty leather stitching with copper rods inside riveted to the leather.
Buckle Stamped on the buckle is the patented date of 1888. There are three tooth rivets on the bottom tie-up, and two tooth rivets around the mid-body tie-up.
Label The name DUCKETT is shown is red letters within a white elongated rectangle with red borders. It is placed within a dark blue semicircle. The name MONTREAL
that is located below the company name DUCKETT is on the same white background in red letters as well.
The copper oxidized into green powder around the rivets, which helped to preserve the original craftsmanship.
